Best of Top Gear: Up the US eastern seaboard

We’re deep in the US southeast, and Jeremy Clarkson needs new shoes.

Actually, it’s his Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG that lacks proper footwear, given its habit of shredding tires on a 700-mile road trip from the rural south to New York. This being a Top Gear road trip, however, there are a number of detours, both deliberate and unscripted, along the way.

Clarkson’s foils on the journey are James May in a rosso Ferrari 458 Italia, and Richard Hammond at the wheel of a Porsche 911 GT3 RS. Who will reach Manhattan with time – if not tire tread – to spare? Check out this classic episode from Series 15, screening here in its entirety, to find out.

Be sure to catch Episode 3 of Top Gear’s 21st season on BBC America, airing 24 February.
