The 2008 Blast Bursary Winners
We recently announced this years winners of the Blast Film Bursary on BBC Two with Jenna G, James King plus a host of industry judges. Check out the full list below.
As well as entries for the bursary competition, we also had some fantastic films sent in by younger Blast filmmakers.Those films that were particularly commended were: Nacho and Salsa by Tom Ball; Welcome to Ringmer by Joseph Dytrych; Lily by Kieron Christian and Age Swap by the pupils of Sydney Russel school.
Blast Film Festival Animation Winner
Rob Wallace for his touching animation Shrouded in Starkness.
Blast Film Festival Comedy Winner
David Poole for Sensitivity, his funny take on a man looking for some peace and quiet.
Blast Film Festival Documentary Winner
Victoria Ijeh-Okusanya for her heartfelt film Sickle Cell.
Blast Film Festival Music Video Winner
Jasmine Blackborow for Takin' It Over (Papi Cazo), her energetic music video.
Blast Film Festival Drama Winner
Ethan T. Race for his unnerving piece entitled Conflict.
The 2007 Blast Bursary Winners
Each Blast Bursary winner got to work with industry professionals and have a £3000 budget. They were featured on BBC Two discussing how the Bursary is helping them realise their ambitions in film.
Blast Film Festival Drama Winner
Recent Bafta nominee Josh Alward won the Drama award with his excellent film Possession and got to work with the BBC Drama department. He'll be discussing how he used the bursary to produce his new film The Shadow Observers.
Blast Film Festival Music Video Winner
Jozephine Czyrko won the Music Video category by producing a film for Heartbearts by Jose Gonzalez. With the bursary, Jo has been working with producers at Draw Pictures to make a music video for The Strokes guitarist, Albert Hammond Jr with his track Feed Me Jack.
Blast Film Festival Animation Winner
Callum Cormie was the Animation Winner for his very funny film The Bad Knights. Callum has been using the bursary to work with Hollywood producer David Lipman to produce his next animation.

Draw Pictures are a forward thinking London based music video Production Company who represent some of the industries leading directors whilst being committed to developing new talent. Recent productions include: Mark Ronson, Depeche Mode and Lethal Bizzle.

Framestore CFC is the largest visual effects and computer animation studio in Europe, with over 20 years of experience in digital film and video technology. Forthcoming work includes Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix and His Dark Materials: The Golden Compass.
