A “royal space”, glittering with gold inlay and hand-painted wall murals, greets visitors to the Paris office of global law firm Baker & McKenzie.

“We see clients all over the world, but you get a special kind of experience when you are in Paris,” said managing partner Eric Lasry. “(It’s) the French touch.”

The office — one of 75 the firm has worldwide — is  located just steps from the famed Champs-Elysees, the main thoroughfare through the city of Paris, even brings that “French touch” to the boxed lunches served at partner meetings, boasting real glassware, fine cheese and pastries.

Sure, it’s tres magnifique, but can an 18th-century mansion handle the special confidentiality and secrecy needs demanded by clients that include the world’s largest companies? Click ‘play’ to see for yourself.
