The preoccupations of a rapidly changing America in the first half of the 20th Century run through this collection. Landscapes, both rural and urban, scenes of industry, still-life compositions, and portraits are all on show. The art is gathered from MoMa’s collection and spans the years from 1915 to 1950, though the work – which includes paintings, drawings, prints, photographs and sculptures – is presented thematically, not chronologically.

Some of the museum’s best known pieces are featured, and among the artists included are Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keefe, George Bellows and Andrew Wyeth.
