Musicians from all over the world gather in Bolivia for this festival. Notable guests of honour have included Brazilian jazz legend Roberto Menescal - one of the founding fathers of Brazil’s national genre, Bossa Nova - who played the festival last year, and commented: “I’ve always heard about jazz from Argentina or Chile. I didn’t realise there was a jazz scene in Bolivia. I’m amazed.”

Jazz is a popular genre in Bolivia, and the country recently drew worldwide attention when a seven-year-old blind boy from there, Jose Andre Montano Baina, was revealed to be a stunning jazz prodigy.
