This public art biennale has become a major event in New Zealand, and Christchurch will be buzzing for the six-week duration of the event, with new works, talks and panel discussions. International and New Zealand artists including Fiona Connor, Maddie Leach and Dan Arps will be creating varied works of art for a “public art walkway”, comprising new and temporary works of art.

In addition, two well-known artists, yet to be announced, will unveil their permanent works. Past Scape biennials have done much to enhance the urban centre of Christchurch, and raise the profile of public art in the city.
