Sundance is an undisputed highlight of the film festival calendar, and began life in 1978 in an effort to attract more filmmakers to Utah. Categories include Documentary Premieres, Park City at Midnight (“unruly films that will keep you edge-seated”), Collection (classic indie films), New Frontier (multimedia and transmedia) and US and World Dramatic Competitions.
In the run-up to the event – in the autumn of 2013 – the organisers are bringing a taste of Sundance to a wider audience by putting a collection of eight short films from the 2013 edition of the festival on tour across the US. Films include Skinnigrove, Jonah and Until the Quiet Comes. The tour will reach local art houses in about 50 US cities.
