As a fast-expanding epicentre of cultural activity in New York, it’s no surprise that Brooklyn boasts its own film festival. Founded in 1998 the organisers mission is to “discover, expose and promote independent filmmakers while drawing attention to Brooklyn as a centre for cinema.” And with its base in hipster-heaven Williamsburg, the festival has grown quickly since its start. The organisers also oversee the annual KidsFilmFest which this year will take place on May 31st.
