This year will be the second for the Hong Kong art fair – the other two annual Art Basel events take place in Miami and Basel, Switzerland. Each of the three fairs is unique and defined at least partly by its host region, so in Hong Kong, half of the participating galleries come from Asia and the Asia-Pacific.
Included in the wide selection on show are museum-quality pieces as well as new work by emerging artists, and there is a strong emphasis on the latest developments in the visual arts. Around 250 galleries will take part, with more than 3,000 artists showing their work. There will also be additional exhibitions and events across the city’s lively gallery scene and in its cultural institutions.
