Globalisation, colonial legacies, food consumption and production – as well as food as a symbol of status and privilege − are some of the themes explored in this show at Brisbane’s Gallery of Modern Art. Featuring more than 100 works from GOMA’s collection, Harvest will be shown along with the Australian Cinematique program Harvest: Food on Film.

The exhibition spans several centuries, from depictions of Asian and African delicacies in 17th-Century northern European still-life paintings to contemporary art that explores the huge global food industry.
