Jasper Johns, Ed Ruscha and Julie Mehretu are among the celebrated artists featured in a show at the British Museum, The American Dream: Pop to the Present. Experimental printmaking is the focus of the exhibition, which explores how American artists responded to social and political events of the past six decades, from the assassination of JFK and the moon landing to gender politics and race relations. Works have been gathered from the museum’s own collection, along with loans from museums and private collections from around the world.
