The Sundance Film Festival and its annual program of documentaries, dramas, shorts, installations, discussions and music events is well established, and the Sundance Institute is as forward-thinking now as it was when it was established in the 1980s. The Ignite program connects young indie filmmakers and audiences. Mentorship and access to screenings and talks all year round are among the opportunities on offer, and winners of a ‘short film challenge’ will have their works screened at the festival in January. We the Animals directed by Jeremiah Zagar is among the films being screened at this year’s event.
