Dancing in Jaffa: Steps to reconciliation

Ballroom dancing teacher Pierre Dulaine’s return to Jaffa in Israel is chronicled in the new documentary Dancing in Jaffa, as he goes back to the city of his birth with the aim of using dance to bring children together.

“Ballroom dance teaches these children life skills: etiquette, discipline, self-esteem, most importantly, self-respect, respect for your partner,” says Dulaine.

The film screened in the Tribeca Film Festival and now the producer of this documentary wants to make a feature film version of Dulaine’s adventures in Israel, to bring to audiences around the world what many regard as a truly inspirational story.

Tom Brook reports.
