Emma Watson: ‘All grown up’ in the Bling Ring?

The Bling Ring is based on the true story of a bunch of middle-class, suburban LA teenagers who broke into the homes of celebrities like Paris Hilton to steal whatever caught their fancy.

The film divided critics when it screened at Cannes, but the performance of Emma Watson, famous for her portrayal of Hermione in the Harry Potter films, stood out. The young British actor is being perceived much more in adult terms because of her role in this film.

But Emma Watson tells Tom Brook that she disagrees with the idea that this film shows “Emma Watson, all grown up.”

“I am playing a misguided, delusional young person going through a serious identity crisis – so that feels quite young to me.”
