For several weeks in late May to early June, the the world's largest gathering of synchronised fireflies appear in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Fireflies gather in their millions in Elkmont Ghost Town.

The fireflies all light up at once as their lights blink in this mesmerising timelapse.
