Jason Allemann, also known as JK Brickworks, put together this model of part of our solar system. Models like this are called "orreries", and were once highly-prized decorations in the homes of scientifically-inclined people.

Allemann is a Lego enthusiast and has built a series of impressive models using the popular construction bricks.

His orrery only includes three celestial bodies: the Sun, the Earth and the Moon. It is also not to scale, although that is normal for orreries.

But it makes up for its simplicity by featuring fairly accurate movements.

All three bodies rotate on their axes, the Earth goes around the Sun and the Moon goes around the Earth - and the relative times they take to do so are roughly correct.
