How can I find information about a TV programme?

For information about programmes, visit the BBC programmes site or the website for the programme, if it has one. Find a list of programme websites in the A-Z index.

Searching the web can be a useful way to find information about television programmes, particularly older or 'cult' programmes.

Another good way to find answers is to ask other viewers through web forums such as Points of View.

When will a programme be repeated?

If a programme is due to be repeated within the next seven days, you can find details on the BBC Programmes website.

Unfortunately, the BBC cannot provide information about repeats beyond this.

Most BBC programmes from the last seven days can be watched online on BBC iPlayer.

Some reception problems are caused by routine maintenance of transmitters. First check the latest list of transmitters affected.

If this doesn't explain the problem, use these links for further advice about digital television reception or analogue television reception.

How can I take part in a BBC TV programme?

Many BBC programmes advertise for contestants and contributors via the Be on a Show website.

Others may advertise via the programme website, if it has one (see the A-Z index for a list of these), or through newspapers and magazines, depending on the type of people needed.

Some programmes, which need a very specific type of guest, may use agencies to find contributors.

How can I get tickets to a recording of a BBC TV programme?

Many TV programmes advertise tickets via the BBC Tickets website. This also includes a list of other commonly requested shows.

Tickets to BBC recordings are generally free. Notable exceptions are music events such as the BBC Proms.
