Sites and Monuments Records are a local resource which hold details of all known historical and archaeological sites and finds in the area.

The records hold various types of data which may include historic maps, books, publications from local historical groups and historians, aerial photographs, statutory designations on ancient monuments and listed buildings, fieldwork reports and personal communications from the public.

Many records are now available on computer databases or online.
