Donal MacIntyre: 07/09/2008

Donal MacIntyre returns for a new series of hard hitting investigations, and gobsmacking revelations.

We're exposing the Brits who paid thousands of pounds to buy fake degrees from a bogus university in the US. The founders of the 'degree mill' in Washington State made millions through a network of internet based of unaccredited 'universities' and are now in prison. We track down two British professionals who bought PhDs, and have been calling themselves 'doctor'. Donal asks why the authorities here don't clamp down on bogus colleges.

It's well known that there's a NHS postcode lottery when it comes to funding drugs not approved by NICE (National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence). But who at your local PCT (Primary Care Trust) actually makes the decision, and how well qualified are they to do so? We've been investigating, and think you'll be surprised by the results.

And this week charity shops have been in the news, the sector made its biggest profits ever last year. But are thefts from charity shops also at an all time high ? Donal hears from concerned volunteers and a former investigator.
