After the second heat show Myleene tells us which choir 'broke her heart', which judge shares her love of Chaka Khan, and why we should all get singing!

"Hello again! Hope you're all enjoying the show... what another amazing heat this week!

"Something extraordinary just happened in the studio tonight. Again the choirs were of a very, very high calibre and because we had more male choirs it was just like 'face off with the boys!'

Highs

"Listening to Revelation singing 'Rule the World' was a magical moment. It's essentially a pop song, but they gave it a completely different take and sang with so much soul - it made my spine tingle - big time!

"And David from Revelation does not realise how good he is. He sings so smoothly and he's a star in the making. He's like a cross between Gnarls Berkley, Luther Vandross and Stevie Wonder. And he's so humble that when you say 'well done', he looks shocked and is so thankful!

"I also loved talking to 82-year-old Ray from the Hereford Police Male Choir... He was adorable, just like your Grandad. He was full of cuddles and kisses and he was such a genuinely lovely man.

"We're so lucky that these are the boys who represent us and look after us. When you meet people who actually walk the beat, or as they say 'stick to the beat' it's very humbling and it shows you what a beautiful community there is out there.

Lows

"And there were some major, major lows too... Having to tell the Hereford 'boys' that they were out just broke my heart. They are such charming gentlemen and they really wanted it so badly. At the same time they also said to me that they wanted a young choir to go through because it would be so important for the future of choirs and would inspire young people to start singing.

"It's a long day for everyone - but when Hereford Police Male Choir sit on the stage they won't even slouch in their suits, they're so proud. They put their all into it and when I had to announce that they were out my voice broke, they looked at me, and it broke my heart - it actually broke my heart to tell them.

Last Chance Songs

"This week the final three choirs were very, very different, and as Suzi said, each had something the others didn't.

"The Hereford Police Male Choir, they're an older choir with warm vocals, and warm resonant chords. Whereas you've got Last Minute singing 'Spiderman' with intricate jazz chords, and then you have Only Men Aloud! who have got these really, really loud, technical and resounding voices and they sound like an opera on stage.

"What I struggled with was the fact that each choir was so individual and so different that it's really hard to compare them - I'm glad I'm a presenter not a judge!

Russell, Suzi and Sharon

"Talking of the judges... It's been great working with all three of them. I only ever see Russell in shorts when he's backstage! And Suzi and I can talk about shoes until the cows come home!

"Sharon is great fun, she's Chaka Khans' biggest fan, next to me. The two of us just fight over who loves her more. Sharon has sung with Chaka and I have played the piano for Chaka, so the two of us have a mutual admiration of that.

Singing

"And finally - I just thought I'd encourage as many of you as possible to get singing! Singing in a choir is a fantastic form of expression and can be very liberating. It's exciting that you meet people who want to join forces and celebrate and make beautiful sounds. Plus there's the community aspect - the idea of turning up and having a sing song and then a cup of tea and a biscuit afterwards just fills me with joy.

Love

P.S - Guess which choir was in the bar drinking until 1.30 last night..? The Hereford Police Male Choir!! Everyone else was going to bed early, or tucking in to a pot noodle (you know who you are), and there's the Hereford men living it up in the hotel and keeping all the producers awake. If you wanna party, go with the older boys!

P.P.S - Don't forget to find out what Nick thought about the second heat show in his weekly blog!
