Myleene's Blog - Knockout 2

20th August 2008

Get all the backstage gossip with Myleene's weekly blog:

After the second knockout show Myleene lets us know why she likes to feel a little nervous, what she likes to snack on during breaks and why Suzi and Sharon were singing to her daughter Ava...

"Hello everyone, aren't things hotting up now we've reached the semi-final stage?!

"Well what another nerve-wracking show - not just for Nick and I - but the choirs, the judges and the viewers at home too!

Nerves are good!

"Saying that, I find that you need the nerves before you're going on stage, they motivate you into giving a great performance, and they definitely get the adrenaline flowing! In fact, I get worried if I'm not feeling a little nervous before going on stage!

"I also think that the choirs use that nervous energy when they're performing, and it's helped to keep them going through such a tough process every week.

"I think the adrenaline and the excitement of the live show really motivates them to keep up the energy, and the desire to do the best for each other makes sure they keep up that momentum during the week. They've all worked so hard and they all desperately want to stay in the competition, and they know they have to up their game to stay in so that helps generate the energy they need.

Colourful costumes

"The costumes are looking fabulous aren't they? The colours look so good when they're all up on stage together! The choirs really put a lot of effort into them - the Revelation ladies even had their hair dyed pink!

"I think one of the most nail-biting parts of the day on Saturday is after the main show when the choirs are waiting for the votes to come in. I usually tend to stay away from the choirs really, I just let them focus and concentrate on the job ahead, and I head back to my dressing room for a break.

Crisps, sweets, diet coke and Nick's wine!

"I've usually got diet coke and lots of 'healthy' food in the dressing room - like crisps and sweets!!! Actually, I usually creep into Nick's dressing room as although he doesn't have any food he always brings along a couple of bottles of nice wine!

Ava's birthday

"This week it was my daughter Ava's first birthday - so I was playing with her a lot in the breaks. She even had Nick playing 'Happy Birthday' to her on his guitar, and Sharon and Suzi sang for her too, can you imagine that?! It doesn't get much better than that does it?

"If you have any burning questions about any aspect of the show, find out how you can send in your question for me below...

Love

Myleene x

"P.S - A big thank you to everyone who's sent in cards for Ava - everyone's been so kind! She's had lots of presents including a rocking chair from the production team, and everyone's been popping in and wishing her the best. It's been so much fun! So thank you to everyone from Ava, it's been such a special day for her!

"P.P.S - Don't forget to find out what Nick thought about the second knockout show in his weekly blog!"
