Nick gives us his take on the show with his weekly blog. After the first knockout show, Nick talks about what it was like in the live studio, the show’s surprises and Myleene’s 5” heels.

"Hi Folks, so after 3 heats to get to the last 6, we’ve now moved into the live shows where the viewers’ votes make all the difference.

Backstage

"Backstage was buzzing!! There were 175 people to get on and off stage. So technically it was a very difficult show to do, but great fun. The choirs were fantastic and they’ve become so professional. They work with all the sound people and camera crews to be as good as they can on the night.

Live action

"I’ve done shed loads of Live TV, and I really enjoy the way a show takes on a life of its own - there’s a buzz you just can’t beat. Thankfully, it all went very well tonight. Once Myleene had made it down the big Perspex staircase in her 5” heels, I think we were pretty much away and flying.

Show surprises

"Some of the choirs were definitely affected by nerves. They were aware it was live and there was a lot of pressure

Made it through

"It’s very difficult not to enjoy doing the show. I was so excited that I mumbled my lines a couple of times and fluffed a bit, but it’s just because it’s such a great show to be involved with. I think the viewers get caught up in it too, so I hope they’ll forgive me.
