The youngest of the group, 21-year-old JJ wants Last Man Standing to help him grow as a man. Before setting out, our Florida traffic cop had never been out of the US.
Now he's handing in his badge to: 'get the crap kicked out of me'.
Last Man Standing is an experience I will always remember.
JJ
His trip is set to be challenging, not only on a sporting level, but for all the tribal rituals and rites of passage that turn up at every location.
As a specialist fighter, a fast-developing submission wrestler, JJ hopes that in the ring he's going to be difficult to beat, but he'll have to work out how to cope with tribal rules (and Wolé).
JJ spends four days a week working out on cardio and weights and spends the other three training in the ring... with a dream of one day becoming a professional cage fighter.
His attitude to life can be summed up by his tattoos: On one arm 'life' is 'death' upside down... on the other 'choice' becomes 'destiny'. Hmm.
We sent JJ a list of questions to dig a little deeper and find out what really makes him tick.
Here's what he had to say...
