Week seven and our athletes are in South East Asia heading deep into the heart of the Philippines.
As it stands it's Ed who still holds the lead with two epic endurance wins.
The athletes' destination is a remote Sikaran kick fighting training camp on the edge of the jungle.
Our athletes will be trained by the very best and will have just one week to perfect the lethal fighting moves and join a brotherhood of Sikaran fighters before taking on the black belts at a tournament of masters.
Sikaran Kick-Fighting - The Rules
All blows are delivered by the feet. There's no punching, pushing, holding and definitely no kicks below the waist.
Hands are only used to block.
After two days of intense training the six athletes get ready for their initiation day into the Sikaran Brotherhood. Succeed and they'll get their trademark red fighting trousers.
To be awarded these, each athlete must fight two black belts who have covered their feet with cow dung. To pass you need to avoid getting the cow dung on your body.
It's the first time all the athletes have seen each other fight and amazingly they have all done enough to be accepted into the Sikaran Brotherhood.
That evening they bond with their fellow kick-fighters. On the menu there's something special. A Filipino delicacy known as Balut. It's an 18 day old chick foetus.
And for pudding it's some freshly gathered snails.
The tournament is being staged on the shores of the largest lake in the Philippines, the Laguna Debai.
First up is JJ who is fighting one of Master Jimmy's best, Eddie. Although JJ fights well it's not good enough and the judges' decision goes against him. He is out.
Next are Murray and Ed. The last time these two fought they were wielding sticks in Ethiopia. Now they get to kick each other instead.
It's declared a knockout and Ed goes through to the quarter finals. He manages to progress to the semi finals but is unfortunately knocked out the competition by Ambet, one of the favourites.
Joey's first match is with Wolé and after a scrappy round it's the London fire-fighter who comes out blazing on top. He sails through the quarter finals to meet Jarvis in the semis. The winner will go on to the finals and be this weeks Last Man Standing.
The fight between Jarvis and Wolé is too close to call. Iin the end the result goes to the three judges to decide a winner.
With two votes to one, Wolé is this week's winner and the Last Man Standing. Jarvis however is devastated after giving all he has in this week's competition.
Wolé then goes to fight Ambet in the final and wins the tournament outright. This means in the overall standings he moves into joint top spot with Ed, both on two wins each.
The next challenge - Sumbawa Buffalo Racing

Six intrepid athletes travel the world to compete against the most remote tribes on earth at their own sports.
Production Co-ordinator Tim Pyke takes us behind the scenes.
For 333 years the Philippines were under Spanish rule, having been colonized in the the 16th century by the troops of Philip II.
The USA took over in 1898 and remained the colonial power until 1946 when the islands achieved independence. Because of this long-term influence, the Philippines is very westernized, with English the official language.

It's like a cat and mouse game... I'm the cat and not the mouse though.
I think I can do well in the tournament, my confidence level is pretty high...

Jarvis should have had that one, good technique plus to massive kicks to the balls poor guy!!!

Jarvis was definitely robbed there! Wole should have been disqualified for his low blows. Jarvis was definitely the better fighter.

How is it that all the boys were in the same weightclass, they might all be heavy compared to the local guys but surley Joey and Ed aint even close to Wole or Jarvis. And someone that has only been training for one week can beat a guy that has been doing it for years and years. No doubt that Wole is a big strong guy but tecnique should be able to come over power in a sport that has a point scoring system for delivered blows. I'm a bit dissapointed with this episode. For me Jarvis should have Won that one but hey I'm no expert on Sikaran Kick fighting i suppose.
Looking forward to next week

I can't believe they gave wole the win, he was clearly nowhere near as good as Jarvis. Absolute shocker, wole is just massive but technically poor

Two unfair wins for Wole. Jarvis was the outright winner this time. Wole should have been disqualified for his dirty fighting. He is all brute force and no skill.
Not the best episode.
Hopefully the other guys give plenty of support to Jarvis after this disgrace.
Wole is definately not the last man standing.

Very dirty fighting by Wole - that first kick aimed at the groin - the fight had not even started and he is breaking the rules again! Clearly Jarvis was the better fighter and the better man and the fight should have gone to him.
I also notice how Wole got argumentative when the judges were making there decision, just like he did in the stick fighting stiuation. Maybe the judges felt moved to vote in his favour when they saw how aggrieved he was or maybe they were just over awed by his bulk. Anyhow I think Wole has one win that belongs to ED and one win that belongs to JARVIS.

I think Wole had trouble kicking above the waist - he doesn't seem to have a lot of lower body flexibility. Jarvis was clearly better at this type of fighting and fought better in that bout despite two broken fingers and a kick in the groin. He's a tough man to get back in after that and I think he won that bout. Also, Wole broke the rules three times and argued with a judge - he should have been disqualified for that. He made himself look bad in this event. Withdrawing after starting a bout by kicking his opponent in the balls would have been a better thing to do, because that ended the chance of a fair fight.

WHAT?!?!?!? Jarvis was robbed!! Wole has 2 wins and he played dirty and cheated to get them both. shame on you Wole, shame on you!!

I cant believe it!!! Wole did not deserve that win he broke the rules and showed no style. He has won two events and neither was a particularly convincing win.
Jarvis should have won that event hands down!

Another episode and another stolen win for Wole. He really doesn't seem to have any technique to speak of past smash and bash. He picked up 2 warnings in his fight against Joey (though I would agree that he won that bout overall) and should have picked up 3 against Jarvis.
I was disappointed for Jarvis as you could see how badly he wanted the win and how hard he worked to get there. Unfortunately, those last two don't count for anything unless you've got the skills but as it happened, Jarvis had those too and was the best fighter in the group...
My unofficial scorecard now reads:
Ed - 3 (Eps 1 Stick fighting, 3 Mountain climbing and 4 Dugout canoeing)
JJ - 1 (Ep 5 Archery)
Murray - 1 (Ep 6 Ice Running)
Jarvis - 1 (Ep 7 Kick-fighting)
I know that leaves me one episode short but I think I'd have to watch the wrestling one again. It went to Joey and at the time it seemed reasonable but I now wonder if that was me just being glad an underdog won and a little anti-Wole bias coming off the stolen decision the week before. Like I say, I'd have to watch that one again.
Anyone else running a scorecard that differs from the official one and if so, how are you marking it so far?

One of my favourite series 2 episodes yet! The sport was really good, tribe was cool, athletes all went about it pretty much with a good attitude apart from when it was really painful in the first beasting.. Jarvis is a dude! Hadn't seen much of him before this episode, but saw loads of him in this and feel so sorry for him! He def. should have won the fight against Wole due to Wole definately doing a 3rd low kick, felt gutted for Jarv when he lost, was not fair.
Really hope Jarvis can win in the next round and keep a chance of winning LMS going, Hendo.

A very good episode but Jarvis was robbed of the win after some very dirty unsporting tactics from Wole. How Jarvis even managed to carry on after the first kick straight to the groin I don't know but then received two further powerful kicks and still carried on.
I hope this win plays on Wole's mind, knowing that Jarvis should have been the last man standing.

Felt very sad for Jarvis but also for Wole, judging fighting is obviously a hugely subjective business but he has benefited from two questionable decisions both in this episode and in the 1st one in Ethiopia, its not his fault but i hope he doesnt win soley on the strength of them for his own sake and that of the competition as a whole .

Ark Ash:
I make it the same as you on mine,
3 for ed (2 I=Official + 1 Unofficial, the stick fighting he clearly dominated)
1 for JJ (1 Official)
1 for Murray (1 Official)
1 for Wole (1 Unofficial, the wrestling I thought he should have won)
As its a TV Show you have to appreciate the skill of editing to make things seem not always as they are, I personally like to watch the reaction of the tribe and the athletes when a last man standing is not clearcut, gives a good indication of whether the decision was correct or not).
Next show could be interesting as I don't think it is going to suit any of the athletes outright. My prediction is either Murray to win the next event, who does everyone else think will win?
Hendo

I think Murray has a good chance at the next event- his balance should be good from his kite surfing so long as his knee is alright by then.
My official table is:
Ed - 3 wins (2 official, 1 unofficial)
Murray - 1 (official)
JJ - 1 (official)
Joey - 1 (official)
Jarvis 1 (unofficial)
Wole - 0 (unofficial)
I would like to see Wole win something hands down though with no controversy too, but Ed to win please! I really like his sportmanship and how he supports everyone else but always gives 100% to any event he takes part in.

Oh Yes... Jarvis was definitely the best fighter hands down. He had the most skill and better balance with great concentration.
I'm suprised at my fellow Filipinos, as the third Judge wasn't even paying much attention...
And speaking of fellow Filipinos, most of the tagalog to english translation where wrong and many sentences were missed... APPALLING!!!

What competion starts with a disabling kick to the balls ? Very poor sportsmanship. Wole should have been disqualified immediately. I felt very saddened for Jarvis who bravely carried on only to be rewarded by 2 more disgraceful similar kicks. Wole is not fit to be in this programm.

jarvis should have won. hands down. his performance has been quite poor all series until this challenge where he really deserved it.

Jarvis was robbed, and Wole is a cheating bugger. Once in the nads in an accident, but twice is deliberate. I took a dislike to Wole in the second episode after he injured someone wrestling and laughed about it.
Jarvis had much better technique. He should have won.
And he's prettier too.

Is it just me or is Joey the most whiny disrespectful moron on the planet, he is worse than a five year old throwing a paddy in a supermarket. I hope when he sees this series back what a child he is and he is so rude to those that are kind enough to take him into their homes and culture. He is seeing parts of the world only a handful of people get to see, what a chump!!
I was so rooting for Ed but well done to JJ this week. A little waterbuffalo lovin went a long way!!!!
