Blast
Blast is the BBC's youth creativity service that aims to build the confidence and skills of 13 to 19 year olds. For first-timers to emerging artists, Blast is a powerful and free resource which encourages young people from across the UK to bring their creative ideas to life.
Online, young people can find tools and advice from professionals; participate via message boards and upload their own work.
The Blast Truck is a multi-media mobile studio complete with recording studio, edit suite and lab which tours the UK for six months each year. In 2007 the Blast Truck engaged 150,000 participants in over 500 workshops and masterclasses.
Blast On BBC Two is an autumn schedule which provides a valuable platform by showcasing creative content and masterclasses from industry professionals. You can watch the films at bbc.co.uk/blast/film/bbc2/.
Each year the Blast schemes offer hundreds of young people the opportunity to take up Creative Traineeships, work experience placements, reporting posts in local radio and act on the Blast Youth Panel.
