'Cannabis factory' found in Newry

cannabis plants

Police in Newry have uncovered a "cannabis factory".

The discovery followed the search of a house in the Dublin Road area of the city.

About 500 plants were recovered, along with equipment used in the production process. No arrests were made.

Police said the plants were worth £250,000. It is believed this valuation is based on the amount of cannabis which can be farmed from a single plant.
