Pair are arrested after man shot in Stocksfield

Two men have been arrested and bailed in connection with the shooting of a man in Northumberland.

The 34-year-old victim was found in New Ridley Road, Stocksfield, on Friday night with a gunshot wound to the shoulder, Northumbria Police said.

A force spokesman said the man was taken to Newcastle General Hospital, where his condition remains stable.

No-one else was reported injured. Two men aged 35 and 52 were arrested and later releasead on police bail.

The spokesman said the incident was the result of a dispute and not a random shooting.
