Cyclist dies after Liverpool taxi collision

A cyclist has died after a collision with a taxi on Merseyside.

The 41-year-old man was cycling towards Liverpool on Liverpool Road, Huyton, at 1130 BST on Saturday when the crash happened.

The cab driver, a 53-year-old man from Halewood, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving.

Merseyside Police said three buses stopped at the scene and officers would like to speak to any witnesses who were on board at the time.
