Man dies in A980 crash in Banchory

A man has died and another has been injured in a crash involving two cars near Banchory in Aberdeenshire.

The man died at the scene of the crash, which happened on the A980 at Raemoir, at about 2245 BST on Saturday.

The other man is said to have sustained leg injuries and is in a stable condition in Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Grampian Police, which has appealed for witnesses, said the A980 would be closed on Sunday morning to allow crash investigation work to be carried out.
