Women rescued after falling into quarry in Greenhithe
Two women were taken to hospital after being rescued by firefighters when they fell 50ft (15m) into a quarry in Kent.
Six fire engines and a specialist line rescue team from Deal were sent to the scene, after being alerted just before 2200 BST on Sunday.
One team of firefghters climbed into the pit in Knockhall Road, Greenhithe, near Dartford, to rescue one woman.
Another team abseiled down the quarry to reach the second. The women's injuries are not life threatening.
A spokesman for Kent Fire and Rescue Service said two ambulances were also at the scene during the rescue, which took two hours.
Both women were placed on spinal boards as a precaution before being carried to safety by firefighters and paramedics.
