Four men in court in Lanark over drugs hauls

Four men have appeared in court after drugs were seized from a car in Lanarkshire and a house in Glasgow.

James Bell, 46, David Bell, 43, and Charles Telfer, 32, and Alan McAuley, 40, faced charges under the Misuse of Drugs Act.

It follows the recovery of £100,000 worth of cannabis from a car on the M74 near Lesmhagow on Monday.

A kilo of cocaine, worth about £40,000, and some cash were also alleged to have been found at a property in Glasgow.

Appearing at Lanark Sheriff Court, the men made no plea or declaration and were released on bail.
