Man, 26, killed by car in Scotstoun area of Glasgow

A 26-year-old man has died after being hit by a car in the west end of Glasgow.

David Young, from the city's Jordanhill area, was struck by a Vauxhall Vectra on Danes Drive, Scotstoun, at 1630 BST on Tuesday. He died at the scene.

Police said the car "apparently went out of control" as it approached a roundabout near Lennox Avenue.

The 62-year-old driver is in a stable condition in hospital after suffering injuries to his head and body.

Police have appealed for witnesses to the crash to contact them.

They also want to speak to anyone who may have seen the blue Vauxhall Vectra in the area prior to the crash.
