Missing python search under way

Police have appealed for help in their hunt for a snake which has gone missing from a house in Dumfries.

The three-feet long royal python escaped from a property in the town's Young Avenue on Wednesday.

A spokesman for Dumfries and Galloway Constabulary appealed for anyone who may have seen the missing snake to contact them as soon as possible.

The royal python, which is not an endangered species, is the smallest of the python family and is not venomous.
