Stoke-on-Trent street sealed off in shooting inquiry
A man has been taken to hospital after being shot in the leg in Staffordshire.
Officers sealed off Chaplin Road in Normacot, Longton, Stoke-on-Trent, after being called to a residential address there at 1105 BST.
A grey vehicle believed to be connected to the incident was later found abandoned and on fire in nearby Buccleuch Road.
Staffordshire Police said inquiries were ongoing but believe it to be a "single incident".
'Please help me'
Supt Laurie Whitby-Smith said: "Officers are now in the process of talking to the injured man, his family and neighbours, to start to work out what has happened."
Azhar Hussain lives nearby said he saw a car with blacked-out widows pull alongside the injured man's car just before the shooting.
He said: "They opened the front passenger door and shot him. They got his leg and shot him right through his ankle with a shot gun.
"He got out of the car and had blood pouring out and had a massive hole through his ankle and was shouting, 'Please help me, please, please, help'."
