Teenagers and their parents are being targeted by a new alcohol awareness campaign in Guernsey.

A series of events are planned over the coming month to send out the message: "Why let drink decide?"

Drug and alcohol strategy co-ordinator Andrea Nightingale said safe and sensible drinking was the message.

She said: "We are recommending that any child under the age of 15 shouldn't be drinking alcohol."

The new street bus, available to charitable and States youth organisations since February, has a central role in the campaign.

It will visit schools at lunchtimes and be parked outside various supermarkets on Fridays and Saturdays throughout June.
