County Durham shoppers warned over fake goods
Shoppers have been warned to be vigilant after dozens of fake designer goods were seized from a County Durham market stall.
Trading standards officers removed dozens of reproductions from a trader operating at Peterlee market.
The copies included sportswear, T-shirts, tracksuits and hooded tops bearing designer names.
Durham County Council said it would seek to prosecute anyone found to be selling imitation clothing.
Councillor Bob Young said: "We would urge residents not to buy fake goods. They are usually of poor quality and are definitely not value for money.
"When the garment starts to fall apart or fade, the seller will be long gone."
