An historic 18th century walled garden in Edinburgh is to be opened to let the public have a look inside.

Redhall Walled Garden, an organic six-acre site, is on the banks of the Water of Leith at Lanark Road.

Officials said the garden, originally the kitchen garden for Redhall House and its estate, is rich in historic as well as horticultural interest.

It will be open on Sunday 27 June. There will also be plants for sale, cream teas and children's activities.

The garden is run by mental health association, SAMH.
