Pillion passenger in fatal Blaenau Gwent crash is named

A motorcycle passenger who died after a road collision in Blaenau Gwent has been named by police.

Michelle Warren, 40, from Abertillery, was riding when the collision involving a green Ford Fiesta happened between Ebbw Vale and Brynmawr on Thursday.

The 52-year-old motorcyclist, from Ebbw Vale, is seriously ill in hospital.

The driver of the Ford Fiesta, 18, was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving but later released on police bail.

Gwent Police said the collision happened at about 1300 BST in King Street.

They said the two men in the car were not injured.

The family of Ms Warren paid tribute, saying she will be "sadly missed by all her family and friends".

Gwent Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has information to contact them on 101, or the collision investigation unit on 01633 642404.
