Stab death follows Cheltenham 'domestic incident'

A 57-year-old man has died from stab wounds after a "domestic incident" in Cheltenham on Saturday night.

Police were called to the incident on Mersey Road in the town at about 2250 BST.

They began a search for the man, who was found suffering from serious knife wounds, in the area of All Saints Road.

Despite treatment by police and paramedics at the scene, the man died a short while later at Cheltenham General Hospital.

The death has been referred to the Independent Police Complaints Commission (IPCC) as a matter of routine.

No arrests have been made.
