Police have arrested a convicted sex offender who went missing from his Middlesbrough home.

Anthony Keilty was given a community rehabilitation order and placed on the sex offenders register in November 2001 for gross indecency.

A search began for the 42-year-old last month after he allegedly breached a Sexual Offences Prevention Order by failing to register his address.

Cleveland Police said he was arrested on Tyneside on Monday.
