The UK stage of an international motorbike competition will be held in Scotland for the first time since 1992.

The 2010 SPEA FIM Trial World Championship event will take place at Nevis Range, near Fort William, from the 25 to 27 June.

Twelve times champion Dougie Lampkin, from West Yorkshire, will be among 60 riders from 15 countries competing.

The winner is decided on skill and the course includes rocky streams and boulder-strewn gorges.

Nevis Range has already hosted the Scottish Six Days motorcycle trials organised by Edinburgh and District Motor Club.

Last weekend, the area's mountain and forest tracks were used for a stage of the UCI Mountain Bike World Cup.
