A third man has been charged in connection with the fatal stabbing of a man in a Manchester street.

Karl Hodson, 31, was found by police in Harold Priestnall Close, Newton Heath, at about 1840 BST on 23 March. He died in hospital shortly afterwards.

Lucas Lavelle, 23, of Surbiton Road, Newton Heath, has been charged with conspiracy to commit grievous bodily harm, police said.

Two other men, both 27, were charged with murder earlier this year.

Thomas Fitzgerald, of Halliday Road, Newton Heath, and Jamie Smith, of Petrock Walk, Newton Heath, are both due to appear at Manchester Crown Court in July.

A 23-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of murder, has been bailed until July, a police spokesman said.
