A bar in Nottingham city centre which closed after a man received facial injuries can reopen following the lifting of its licence suspension.

Tantra Lounge and Bar in Victoria Street shut in May after a man had a glass pushed into his face and needed hospital treatment.

The city council's licensing panel agreed earlier that it could reopen.

Several conditions have been put on the licence. Drinks now have to be served in plastic cups and bottles.

The owners have also taken steps to meet the police on a regular basis.

Officers said they were content with the new measures that management at the bar had put in place.
