Royal Mail driver threatened during robbery in Bestwood

A Royal Mail driver has been threatened during a robbery in Nottingham.

Two men targeted the driver during a delivery at the Post Office on Beckhampton Road, in Bestwood, at about 0920 BST on Monday.

The men snatched a cash box, which contained several thousand pounds, and ran off towards Hartcroft Road.

The empty cash box was later recovered in Eardley Road. Officers believe some of the cash may be covered in blue dye from a security device inside.

They have appealed for anyone who sees banknotes with blue dye on them to contact police.

Officers also want to trace a vehicle seen speeding along Hartcroft Road shortly after the robbery.
