A strike by pilots in Sweden has led to the cancellation of 500 flights, affecting at least 23,000 passengers.

The one-day strike was mainly affecting local, not international flights.

The pilots are demonstrating over working conditions and plans by at least one regional airline to use freelance pilots.

Pilots from four regional airlines were striking until 2300 (2100 GMT), while other pilots were returning to work on Wednesday afternoon.
