Sex attack victim left on County Antrim road

A 19-year-old woman was abandoned on a country road in Country Antrim after being sexually attacked in the early hours of Monday morning.

She told police she was left somewhere between Coleraine and Belfast between Sunday June 6 and Monday June 7.

It is believed she was then given a lift by a lorry driver who left her off in the Crumlin Road area of Belfast at about 0700 BST on Monday.

It is also thought that a woman stopped to speak to the teenager at that time.

The woman is also thought to have spoken to the teenager's mother on her mobile phone.

The police are appealing to the lorry driver and the woman to contact detectives directly on 028 2566 7214.

They also want to hear from anyone who may have information in relation to the incident.
