Police recover body from Thames at Wapping

Police divers have pulled the body of a man from the Thames in east London.

They were called to Shadwell Basin in Wapping on Saturday afternoon by members of the public after being told that someone had fallen into the river.

The diving team found the body of a man, who is believed to be a 28-year-old unnamed foreign national.

Police are contacting next of kin before releasing the name and a post-mortem examination is due to be carried out early next week.
