Gang attack victim hit with bat in robbery in Ipswich

A group attacked a man with a baseball bat during a street robbery in Ipswich.

The man and a friend were approached by three men on the junction of Graham Road and Paget Road in the early hours.

He was hit with a baseball bat while the other man was punched. A brief fight ensued after a wallet was handed over, police said.

The attackers are described as white and aged 20 to 25. All were wearing dark-coloured tops with their hoods up and two were carrying baseball bats.

Police said that in a separate attack, a man was hit on the back of the head and then punched and kicked on the ground by a group of men in Bolton Lane.

The assault happened shortly after midnight.
