Swansea council worker shot with air gun

An 18-year-old woman and 23-year-old man have been arrested after a council worker was shot in the shoulder with an air gun in Swansea.

The man was working in the Waunarlwydd area of the city around 1130 BST on Tuesday.

He was taken to Morriston Hospital for treatment but Swansea council said he was now recovering at home.

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information to contact them.

It is understood the 32-year-old victim was carrying out repair work to a fence at the time of the shooting.

A council spokeswoman said: "A member of staff suffered a shoulder injury in an incident in Waunarlwydd while carrying out routine work in the area."

She said they were assisting the police investigation.

South Wales Police said the two people arrested were being questioned at Swansea Central Police Station.
