Dismissed Information Commission head resigns post
The former head of the Information Commissioner's Office in NI has tendered his resignation following an agreement reached in the High Court.
In March the Information Commissioner's Office announced that Aubrey McCrory had been dismissed from his post for "gross misconduct" when he was alleged to have leaked to the media details of an investigation into his own behaviour.
Mr McCrory was suspended from the post last year while the commissioner's office carried out an inquiry into his "inappropriate conduct".
He claimed the appeal panel's chairman had already pre-judged the outcome of the disciplinary process and sought an injunction at the High Court to overturn the result.
At the High Court on Wednesday, Mr Justice Deeny was told that both parties had resolved their differences.
The injunction was dismissed and no costs were awarded.
